GENERAL CONTRACTING
FINN Construction and Development delivers the majority of its projects through repeat clientele rooted in years of quality relationships and referrals. On many projects, we are engaged in the early stages of development – during conceptual or schematic design.
During these early stages of Preconstruction, our depth of experience enables us to deliver value to the client and design team through constructability guidance, systems and detail suggestions, estimating, and feasibility explorations. It is during this phase that we begin to assemble the most talented and appropriate management team and subcontractor bid list for the project. Our pool of subcontractor resources is deep and wide, cultivated over decades in the industry.
Throughout the project, FINN Construction and Development provides ongoing feedback to the owners and architects as a member of the team striving for a common goal. We offer viable, proven alternatives along with budget ramifications to enable owners to make informed decisions early.
FINN Construction and Development can work under a variety of delivery methods, including Lump Sum (Stipulated Sum), Integrated Project Delivery, and Design-Build. In every case, our approach is to lead with a win-win vision for partnership and collaboration, to achieve the highest quality project for the owner.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
FINN Construction and Development’s Construction Management services include budgeting, cost-estimating, value engineering, design team and contractor selection, constructability analysis, scheduling, phasing and site logistics studies. During construction, our services also include preemptive quality control, safety management, and construction administration.
As a construction manager, we draw upon our experience and proven track record in completing high quality projects on time and within budget… it’s about teams working successfully together. We help owners identify and hire the right design and building teams for their projects, and then provide the leadership and resources required to make our projects successful. Our solution-driven approach is collaborative and focused on the end goal, fostering a win-win teamwork among the owner, design team, and building team.
DESIGN BUILD
Design-Build presents a great opportunity for early collaboration. Rather than separate the “Designers” from the “Builders,” Design-Build delivery formalizes a partnership between design and building teams throughout the entirety of the project, from inception to completion. This includes the contributions of key subcontractors and engineers during the conceptual stages of design.
At FINN Construction and Development, we believe that our experience and knowledge permit us to substantially support the design process. As a team member working toward a common goal, we offer informed suggestions on items such as: structural system alternatives, construction details, material selections, proven means and methods, lead-time issues, and provide valuable input on many other design components.
In a Design-Build process, this direct line of communication between the design and building teams has proven to provide a seamless transition from design to construction, typically equating to substantial time and cost savings for the owner.
CONSTRUCTION REVIEWS
FINN Construction and Development collaborates with the design team by exploring all possible means and methods. We bring fresh ideas to the table and suggest innovative ways of achieving the design intent within the owner’s budget and schedule. We verify project component compatibility with site access constraints, sequence of work, tolerance requirements, material availability and schedule timeframes. During the early conceptual stages, we suggest structural, façade, and MEP systems that most closely align with the owner’s and architect’s vision for the building.
